Payment Policy
At Dr Omar and Associates Dental Practice, it is our practice policy to give patients full information about the cost of their dental work before any further treatment is carried out. This may be in the form of a written/printed treatment plan which we will ask you to sign.
Patients can pay for their treatment on a “pay as you go” basis or join the Denplan payment scheme. Leaflets and further details are available at reception.

We will often request payment towards your appointment or treatment in order to secure the booking. The only time we would not do this is for routine examinations/emergency appointments for our registered patients.

An amount will be deducted from your deposit if you miss your appointment or cancel at short notice (with less than 24 hours’ notice). Please see our late cancellation and FTA policy.
Private treatment
For routine check-ups/non routine appointments such as lost filling/crown, payment is taken on the day of the appointment.
For private treatment such as fillings, extractions etc, we will request 50% of the fee at the time of booking to secure the treatment appointment, and the balance on the day the treatment is carried out.
For treatment involving a laboratory (crowns/bridges/dentures), one third of the fee will be taken at the time of booking to secure the first stage appointment, one third on the day of the first stage, and the balance on the following appointment.
For hygienist appointments we will request 50% of the fee at the time of booking. The remainder is charged through when the treatment is completed. If a follow up appointment is booked, then the deposit is taken again.
The deposits are taken to secure your appointments. We would keep this deposit should you fail to attend the appointment OR late cancel (cancel within 24 hours of your appointment).
We reserve the right to cancel appointments if we do not receive the deposit required.
Credit
Payment for treatment MUST be received in full by completion of the treatment as we do not hold a credit license.
Payment methods
We accept payment by cash, or debit/credit card, excluding American Express.
Failure to Attend' (FTA) and Late Cancellation Policy
Introduction
The policy regarding failed appointment fees and attendance at our practice is designed to ensure the efficient and fair operation of our services, as well as to uphold the standards and guidelines set forth by the GDC (General Dental Council) Regulations 2005. We take patient attendance seriously to maximize our capacity and ensure timely and appropriate care for all.
Definition of 'Failure to Attend' (FTA):
FTA is defined as patients who either miss their appointments or fail to cancel or reschedule them at least 24 hours in advance, which are at the discretion of the practice. This definition aligns with the regulatory requirements GDC (General Dental Council) Regulations 2005
Settlement of Failed Appointment Fees for Private Patients.
Patients who have missed their appointments or have not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice will be subject to a failed appointment fee. This fee must be settled before any further appointments can be offered. This policy ensures that patients who have previously missed appointments are held accountable for their missed commitments before they can book future appointments.
Denplan patients will forfeit their allocation and as a practice we will use our discretion.
Cancellations by Email or Text Message
We kindly request that patients do not cancel their appointments via email or text message, as these communication methods are not screened daily. This policy is in place to ensure that appointment cancellations are properly managed and accounted for, as missed notifications may lead to disruptions in our scheduling and added cost to the practice.
Documentation of FTAs
All instances of patients failing to attend their appointments will be meticulously documented in their patient files or records. This documentation helps in maintaining a clear record of attendance and compliance with regulations. Under 16’s will be allocated DNA (DID NOT ATTEND) and as a part of the practice procedure we will endeavour to find our out why they did not attend.
